How it works
- Choose a photo and crop it to your canvas shape.
- Pick square (2.5 mm) or round (2.8 mm) drills, a canvas size and how many colors to use.
- Check the drill preview against your original photo.
- Download a PDF pattern that prints at exactly 1:1 scale, with a symbol grid, a color legend and drill counts.
Frequently asked questions
- Is it really free?
- Yes. Making and downloading patterns is free, with no account and no watermark.
- Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
- No. Your photo is processed entirely in your browser. It is never uploaded to a server or stored by us.
- Should I choose square or round drills?
- Square drills (usually 2.5 mm) fit together without gaps and give a crisp mosaic look. Round drills (usually 2.8 mm) are easier to place and give a softer, sparkly look. The grid adjusts to the drill size you pick.
- How do I print the pattern at the right size?
- Print the PDF at 100% ("Actual size") and turn off "Fit to page". Then measure the 10-cell check on the first page: it should be 25 mm for square drills or 28 mm for round drills. Large canvases are split across several pages that overlap by two rows so you can line them up.
- What do I need to make my own diamond painting kit?
- Print the pattern, cover it with a double-sided adhesive sheet, and buy loose drills in the DMC codes listed in the legend. The legend tells you how many drills of each color you need; buying about 10% extra is a good idea.
- Why don’t the colors match my screen exactly?
- DMC colors on screen are approximations, and drills vary a little between makers and batches. If a code is unavailable, use the closest shade.
